If it
wasn't for an injury picked up on a miserable night at Crewe's Gresty Road which
then robbed the Canaries of Adam's services for six matches during February and
March, the City left-back would have surely figured highly in the club's 'Player
of the Year' awards.
Adam simply had an outstanding season at left-back and was one of the most
consistent performers at the club. His excellent form earned him a two-year
extension to his contract in March 2002 and he is now committed to the Canary
cause until June 2006.
Despite last term only being his first full season with the Canaries, Adam
played as though he has been here for many seasons.
The Canaries certainly had a problem at left-back prior to Adam's arrival from
Peterborough United in March 2001 and it's no surprise that City's fortunes have
flourished since this vital role has been filled with a first-class performer.
There is no doubt that Adam has the ability and the attitude to go on and play
at the very top level, Canary fans will just be hoping that he can do just that
in a Norwich City shirt.
